History of Durand Products

Durand started as a locker manufacturing firm under the Churchill & Spalding Company to supply storage facilities for their existing product line of sporting goods. However, it soon became apparent that a locker was not a piece of athletic goods or gymnasium equipment, so a separate company was organized.

In 1907 the business was incorporated as the Durand Steel Locker Company, headquartered in Waukegan, IL. The product line immediately expanded to steel lockers, bins, racks and shelving.
